MRTA solidarity action in Milan

On friday 17, 1997 around 100 activists make staged a 2-hour demonstration outside the Peruvian Consulate in Milan, Italy.

A large police presence hindered the visibility of the rally somewhat. The protestors tried to inform the public about what's happen today in Peru and in other countries of the world wich are ravaged by neo-liberal economic policies.

Everyone can see what living condition in Peru are like today. It is right for all people in civil society, and for the international community, to use the tools at their disposal to bring about a political solution to this crisis, and to demand:

The demo in Milan was an expression of full solidarity with all people who are shouting "NO!" against to their government policies, like the people in Peru, the workers in Korea, and the opposition forces in Mexico, and all people who are struggling against the domination of the World Bank and the IMF and the new wave of slavery and the militarization sweeping across the "Third" World.

Against Neo-liberalism!
