The following is excerpt from KOMPAS, the largest daily, run story on NGOs, at front page, confirming the news that 32 news NGOs are being investigated by Attorney general Office.

The Attorney General spokeperson Suhartoyo said that his office has recieved the list of 32 NGOs and confirms that his office is investigating the background, goals, the principle and its activity.

The investigation by Attorney General office has not been completed.

Minister of home affairs also said the government will continue investigate the problematic NGOs and organizations.

According to KOMPAS, there are 30 social organisation, NGOs as well as Foundations which allegedly violates Law no 8/1985. According to the government, the violations are varies from failure to notify/report to the government, it has not comply with law/regulations, to the NGOs being outspoken and critical to the government policy.

2. NGOs GOI considered too "vocal" (critical and outspoken) 3. "Problematic" NGOs whose the GOI considered failures to report their existance to the government
